Preparation and Characterization of Chitosan Grafted Tannic Acid for Anticorrosion Coating on Bronzeware

Abstract The protective bronze film was prepared by mixing the reaction product of oligosaccharide (COS) and modified tannic acid (TA) with polyvinyl alcohol polyethylene glycol. Chloroacetic to carboxylate TA used generate sodium tannate. N,N’-Dicyclohexylcarbodiumide (DCC)/1-Hydroxybenzotriazole (HOBt) as a condensing agent form an amide bond between carboxylic amine COS-TA. synthesized characterized using FT-IR, NMR, thermal analysis. surface morphology coating made observed optical microscope scanning electron microscope. Electrochemical methods were determine stability corrosion inhibition performance coating. analysis demonstrated that Chitosan oligosaccharides successfully condensed. impedance spectroscopy showed increased, current significantly reduced, had significant anti-corrosion effect.
